European and international issues were at the center of a ''long and cordial'' meeting Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini had here on Wednesday with his Lithuanian counterpart Vygaudas Usackas, the foreign ministry said.
Discussion on Europe was said to have focused on immigration, also in view of the June 18-19 European Council and the upcoming security summit in Corfu of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
The foreign ministry added that the talks between Frattini and Usackas confirmed the ''excellent state of bilateral relations'' between Italy and Lithuania.
At the end of the meeting a joint statement was signed aimed at bolstering relations between the two foreign ministries.
