George Clooney is finally opening up about the night he spent with Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi.
“I've had one evening with Berlusconi and it was one of the most astonishing evenings of my life”, explained Clooney.
While Clooney insists that he did not attend one of the infamous Bunga Bunga parties, Berlusconi did take the American actor back to his bedroom.
The A-list star attended the meeting in order to discuss the possibility of Italy providing helicopters to aid in a Sudan relief mission. Clooney has long been involved in advocacy related to war crimes in the Darfur region and approached the Italian head of state on strictly political terms.
Berlusconi, however, was more interested in showing off the bed that Vladmir Putin gave him. Rather than talking politics, the prime minister tried to convince Clooney to stick around and attend a party he was hosting that evening.
After this unexpected turn of events, Clooney did his best to leave the premier’s bedroom as soon as possible.
"I was like 'I have to go' and he was saying 'where are you going there's going to be a party', and I was like 'No, I gotta go, I really do.'", Clooney told a reporter from Time Magazine.
It is the first time the American heartthrob has ever opened up about spending an evening with Silvio Berlusconi. Clooney was previously forced to publicly deny attending a Bunga Bunga party when the prime minister’s defense team asked the actor to testify in Berlusconi’s defense at one of the premier’s many ongoing trials related to misconduct.
