Ferrero, the company that makes Nutella, is looking to hire 90 sensory judges – that is, people to taste-test cocoa, chopped hazelnuts, and other sweet ingredients used in its products, including its signature chocolate-hazelnut spread.
No previous experience is required; in fact, while Ferrero previously used internal staff for the task, it is now specifically seeking non insiders. The only requirement is that they be familiar with using a computer and have no allergies.
The company will take care of the new hires’ training through a paid three-month course meant to educate them about the senses of taste and smell and how to describe what is perceived when tasting the products.
The position, which is based in Alba (Piedmont), where Ferrero has its headquarters, starts September 30 and is part-time, requiring only two days a week for two hours each day.
