Government creates new ministry, promotes five undersecretaries

The cabinet on Friday created a new government ministry and promoted five undersecretaries to junior minister status.

Michela Vittoria Brambilla, who until now was an undersecretary responsible for tourism at the premier's office, is set to be sworn in as minister for tourism at the presidential Quirinale Palace by head of State Giorgio Napolitano later on Friday.

The five new junior ministers are: Adolfo Urso, Paolo Romani, Giuseppe Vegas, Roberto Castelli and Ferruccio Fazio.

Urso handles foreign trade matters at the economy ministry, Romani is responsible for communications at the industry ministry, Vegas focuses on financial matters at the economy mininstry, Castelli is in charge of infrastructure at the public works ministry, while Fazio is responsible for health affairs at the welfare ministry.
