When talking about the clocks going forward and backward, we can use the expressions:
- cambiare l’ora - change the clocks
- mettere un’ora in avanti/indietro - put the clock an hour forward/backward
- spostare avanti/indietro le lancette dell’orologio - move the clock hands forward/backward
In the UK, the period when the clocks are one hour ahead is called L’ora solare. When the clocks go back, it is L’ora legale.
In Italy, the time will change on March 27th, 2016, so don't forget to turn your clocks one hour ahead around 2am!
