'Ibra staying,' Moratti says

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is staying at Serie A powerhouse Inter Milan, Chairman Massimo Moratti said Monday.

''Ibrahimovic is staying at Inter; only newspapers are saying the opposite,'' Moratti told reporters.

The Swede, who was banned for Sunday's match at Chievo, was reportedly spotted in his home town Malmoe at the weekend.

This was trumpeted by Monday's sports press as evidence of a rift between the club and its star striker - since Inter could have clinched the title with a win in Verona if AC Milan lost to Juventus.

''Ibra already knew how it was going to turn out,'' Moratti quipped, denying suggestions that the Swede had deliberately chosen not to attend a possible scudetto celebration.

Ibrahimovic has reportedly been unhappy at Inter's continuing lack of success in Europe and several recent reports have linked him to Spain's top clubs.

Ibrahimovic and Co can clinch Inter's fourth straight title if they win against Siena next Sunday.

They will already have the bubbly out if Milan lose at Udinese Saturday night.

Inter's fourth straight scudetto would put them level with AC Milan in the all-time standings and second to Juve which has 27 - though fans claim two more stripped after the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal.
