Sky Italia is launching a documentary film exploring the Vatican Museums, “Musei Vaticani 3D,” to be broadcast in Italy starting November 30 on Sky 3D and Sky Arte HD. For the first time, Ultra HD 4K/3D cameras have entered the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel to record new original images through cutting-edge technology that gives viewers the impression to be inside and almost touch the artworks.
Forty people making the Sky Italia’s troupe had the opportunity to shoot inside the Vatican Museums for a week, focusing on the most rare and precious artworks in the world, such as those by Raffaello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Caravaggio. The cameras’ journey ended in the Sistine Chapel. Antonio Paolucci, director of the Vatican Museums, leads viewers on the tour of the several rooms.
