English soccer is ''heaven'' compared with an Italian ''obsession'' with immediate results that hinders long-term planning, Inter Milan's ex-Chelsea coach Jose' Mourinho said Wednesday.
Taking his cue from Tuesday night's 4-4 Premier League draw between Liverpool and Arsenal, Mourinho contrasted the emotions on the field and in the ground with the ''tranquility surrounding the coaches''.
''They get less grey hair than us,'' he quipped.
''In Italy there is an obsession with points and results. A club playing for the scudetto simply 'has to' win it, a club playing in a European cup 'has to' get to the final, a club fighting against relegation 'has to' stay up''.
''And so, so far, ten coaches out of 20 have already been replaced''.
''Life here isn't easy. A coach is forced to make immediate plans and can't lay the groundwork for the future of the club''.
Asked if he was aiming to beat Roberto Mancini's record of four straight seasons on the Inter bench, Mourinho replied ''I have three,'' referring to the contract he signed last summer.
The former Porto boss is on track to win the scudetto at his first attempt but Inter was knocked out of the last 16 of the Champions League by Manchester United.
After the defeat, Mourinho announced fresh plans to win the trophy next time round.
Inter has won the competition twice, in 1964 and 1965.
