Italian vineyards and companies in the wine sector are out in force at the 15th edition of Vinexpo, France's most important wine trade fair, benefiting from the support of the Italian Foreign Trade Institute (ICE).

Over 500 vineyards and companies are in Bordeaux for the event which ICE said ''offers a unique world stage for Italian products''.

''Vinexpo represents a true leap in quality,'' observed Gianni Zonin, chairman of the vineyard of the same name, while Daniele Taccone, export manger for Strega Liquori, said that ''Vinexpo represents an obligatory appointment to consolidate relations with historic markets and to exploit new opportunities ''.

During the fair, which opened on Sunday and closes its gates on Thursday, ICE has organised a series of 16 theme seminars.

Thanks to the seminars, market operators, buyers and journalists ''can appreciate the quality of Italian production, even for lesser known brands which continue to add to the distinctive and priceless wealth of what the country offers,'' ICE said.
