(ANSA) - Italian state-owned airline Alitalia has presented an expression of interest to take over
local low-cost airline Volare, sources reported on November 18, 2005.
According to the sources, Giancarlo Cimoli, president of Alitalia, presented the letter of interest for Volare.
Volare's public tender was launched by extraordinary commissionner Carlo Rinaldini.
The deadline for presentation of interests for Volare expired on November 21, 2005.
Several airlines have expressed interest, among which Air One, WindJet, Meridiana, Blue Panorama, My Air, Eurofly and EasyJet.
