(ANSA) - According to a classification of the most successful 100 brands worldwide, Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci, estimated at $6.6 bln (5.358 bln euro), jumped 10 positions in 2005 and ranked 49th, it was reported on August 26, 2005.
Another Italian fashion brand, Prada, was estimated at $2.7 bln (2.192 bln euro) and ranked 92nd, while jewellery and watch brand Bulgari was on the 94th position again with $2.7 bln (2.192 bln euro) brand market value.
Armani, estimated at $2.67 bln (2.168 bln euro), ranked 95th, beating Levi's, whose value dropped 11 pct year-on-year to $2.65 bln ($2.151 bln euro). Coca Cola, whose brand market value amounted to $67.5 bln
(54.798 bln euro), topped the brand list in 2005 for the fifth consecutive year.
Only two non-US brands entered the top ten, namely Finland's Nokia, which ranked sixth, and Japanese Toyota, which was on the ninth place. Following Coca Cola were Microsoft with a brand market value
of $59.9 bln (48.628 bln euro), IBM with $53.3 bln (43.270 bln euro), General Electric with a value put at $46.9 bln (38.074 bln euro) and Intel, whose value was put at $25.5 bln (20.701 bln euro).
The list was compiled by consultancy company Interbrand and U.S. magazine BusinessWeek.
