Laura Pausini has arrived in America, with style!
On March 6, the Italian singer gave an extraordinary performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden, accompanied by 25 musicians and several guest stars.
Laura has recently begun the U.S. leg of her Greatest Hits World Tour! - after Latin America - to celebrate 20 years of her successful career. She began in Miami, where she performed on March 2, followed by the sold-out concert in New York.
Laura performed with her friend and colleague Biagio Antonacci; the collaboration between the two has produced two hits, Vivimi and Tra te e il mare, which Biagio wrote for Laura, and Laura was thrilled to be able to perform with him in the U.S.: "My U.S. fans will be ecstatic to finally meet and hear the man behind two of my songs they love the most!”
Pausini was also joined on stage by other collaborators and friends, including Miguel Bosè, Gloria Estefan, Il Volo (first time they performed together) e Ivete Sangalo, to perform some her famous duets, while Lorenzo Cherubini aka Jovanotti cheered from the audience.
“This is what is great about music,” she told the audience. “It knows no boundaries and we can convey what we see and feel in any language.” Laura switched languages on all of her songs, from Italian to Spanish to English.
The concert ended with the song that made her famous back in 1993, when she started out: La Solitudine, for the joy of all her fans.
