Galleria Sabauda collection

The magnificent collection of the Savoy Gallery (Galleria Sabauda), which features 500 works including masterpieces by Guercino, Orazio Gentileschi, Mantegna, Rembrandt and Van Dyck, has found a permanent home.

Housed on four floors of the New Wing (Manica Nuova) of the Royal Palace (Palazzo Reale) in Turin, along Via XX Settembre, the collection can be admired following a circular route, which runs along the bright outer rooms of the building, favoring a constant visual contact with the Royal Gardens outside and a close-up view of the works of art inside.

The masterpieces are arranged in chronological order, from the Middle Ages to the 18th century, with detailed captions and multimedia devices. The ground floor will host temporary exhibitions twice a year. Among the most important works in the collection are Annunciazione by Orazio Gentileschi, Cena in casa di Simone Fariseo by Paolo Veronese, Madonna con Bambino by Beato Angelico, Madonna con il Bambino e santi, attributed to Mantegna, Ritratto di Gentildonna by Bronzino.

The inauguration of the Galleria Sabauda at the Royal Palace brings to completion the Polo Reale system, a museum complex in the center of Turin that brings together some of the most prestigious city museums: the Royal Palace, the Royal Armory, the Archaeological Museum, the Royal Library, and Palazzo Chiablese. Extending over 46,000 square meters and more than 3 km, the Polo Reale offers visitors one of the most important art circuits in Europe.

Galleria Sabauda is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 am to 6:30 pm. One ticket for the entire Polo Reale costs 12 euros.
