Motorbike and scooter sales he in Italy fell by 7.7% last month, over January 2007, sector sources said on Monday.
According to Italian motorcycle accessories association ANCMA, the total number of two-wheel vehicles sold in January 2stood at 25,896, with scooter sales down by 5.1% and motorcycle sales of motorcycles off 11.9%.
Sales of motorbikes with engine capacities of between 150cc and 200cc fell by 21.95% over January 2007, while those with capacities between 650cc and 750cc rose by 9.6%.
Sales of mopeds, with 50cc engines, climbed by 9.7%.
Motorbikes sales for all of 2007 were down 2.1% from the previous year.
