A new cable lift with two cable cars has been opened near the Pejo ski resort in Trentino-Alto Adige. The lift has two cable cars which can each carry up to 100 people from Tarlento, at 2,000 metres, into the 3,000–metre Ortles Cevedale mountain range, the highest in the Central and Eastern Alps.
After the five to eight-minute cable car journey, skiers will once again be able to ski down the legendary eight-kilometre Val della Mite piste, one of the most beautiful in the world, to Peio Fonti. The slope had been closed for 24 years.
Under the Pejo Cable Car development plan, it is hoped to develop other ski slopes in the area.
Pejo is part of the Super Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta Ski Carousel.
