A cross between the European reality series "Donna Avventura" (Adventure Woman) and "America's Next Top Model", Chinese series "Dream Come Top Model" chooses Italy as prime location for this season.
In the 10-installment series from Chinese television network Guangxi TV, sixteen models selected from 20 Chinese cities compete to become their country's next supermodel in the first national Chinese television event shot outside of China.
Between their photo shoots and fashion shows, contestants will also have to show their ability to embrace the Italian Lifestyle through contests revolving around Italian culture.
"Dream Come Top Model" is shooting in exclusive locations around Italy, from Rome and Milan to a cooking school in Le Marche. Lake Lugano's Campione d'Italia Casino hosted the public presentation of the contestants on the 14th of August and will soon host the final award ceremony.
Given Guangxi TV's audience of 700 million people, the Italian setting of "Dream Come Top Model" confirms the huge Chinese interest in anything Italian.
