May 15th sees the launch in Italy of the “Lapo-shirt” for men. Costing around 50 euros each and designed for Lapo Elkann’s company Italia Independent, the shirts all have slogans referring to the eccentric Agnelli [Fiat] grandson.
You can choose from “777 Mission Independent”, a reference, of course, to James Bond but also to Lapo’s birthdate [7th October 1977], “No Lapo No Party”, “Lapers” [also available as a women’s t-shirt] or “Just Play”.
The “Lapers” and “Just Play” t-shirts refer to an incident at an NBA basketball game when Lapo “helped out” from the sideline. Here’s what he had to say on that occasion:
"Having two Italians on the Raptors [team] and being Italian, I wished for them to win. I saw the ball coming on me, and I pushed it."
