The high profile story of accused murderer Amanda Knox will soon be coming soon to a television set near you.
The tragic death of Meredith Kercher captured the attention of the world in 2007. At the time, Amanda Knox was a 20-year-old studying abroad in Perugia, when Kercher, her British flatmate, was found murdered. During the highly publicized trial that followed, Italian prosecutors painted the tale of a sex-game gone wrong and Knox was found guilty of murder. She is currently appealing her 26-year prison sentence.
Hayden Panettiere plays Knox in a new Lifetime movie set to air in the US on the 21st of February. The movie attempts to recreate the events surrounding the November 1, 2007 killing and Knox’s subsequent trial.
