One of Italy’s big sports events, the Rome Marathon returns this Sunday for its 20th edition.
At 8:50 tomorrow morning, in Via dei Fori Imperiali, thousands of runners from 123 countries will begin their race.
Of the approximately 19,000 marathon runners, almost 11,000 are Italians and the rest from abroad.
Around 9.10 am, the RomaFun 5K will also begin at Fori Imperiali and end at the Circus Maximus. As many as 80,000 people are expected to participate.
Rome mayor Ignazio Marino will kick off the race, and the Italian flag will be waved.
And because it's Rome, there will be several centurions (centurioni) running as well.
