The Florentine business is the world leader in glass power insulators for electric generation, transmission and distribution, and glass blocks for architectural and interior design.
The space is called ''Show Seves Glassblock'' (located on via Lodovico il Moro, 25/27), and is the fruit of the colourful expression of the Mendini brothers, reference point for a business located in Florence but with production and distribution centres all over the world.
Coloured glass acts as a common thread throughout the showroom: 100% glass, 100% colour.
It is an amazing space designed by Atelier Mendini that brings eclectic Venetian 'Sloop' lamps in Murano glass created by Londoner Nigel Coates for AVMazzega, in contact with lively pieces from the Mendini Collection a new collection of glass blocks inspired by nature and conceived to enliven contemporary domestic landscapes with new shades and visual sensations.
Seves is the world leader in the glass block sector, with a 40% share of the market. Its production includes three product lines (Design, Technology and Basic), as well as a custom service called ''Tailor Made''.
Seves has collaborated with Renzo Piano for the Hermes fashion house store in Tokyo (2001-2006), Santiago Calatrava for the Liegi train station (2006-2007), Moneo-Brock for the thermal complex Bagni di Tiberio in Panticosa (2007) and Rafael Moneo for the Deusto University library in Bilbao (2008).
