Sharm el Sheikh terror attack: four Italians missing and two confirmed dead

The terror attacks at Sharm el Sheikh last Saturday have killed at least 88 people, among which two have been confirmed as husband and wife Sebastiano Conti and Daniela Maiorana. Sebastiano Conti was the first to be recognised while Daniela Maiorana was recognised through her wedding ring. The brother of Sebastiano and his fiancé are still missing, while also two sisters from Puglia have not been in touch with their friends or family since Friday.

Sharm el Sheikh is a very popular resort with Italians who are the single largest group of foreign tourists. The Italian and Egyptian authorities are closely working to help each other and a a group of DNA specialists from Sicily has been flown to the resort to assist with recognition of the victims.

All tours from Italy to the resort have been suspended following government advice to avoid travelling to Sharm el Sheikh.
