Tasca d'Almerita has been named the ‘Italian Winery of the Year’ in the 2012 edition of Vini d’Italia. The well-respected wine guide published by Gambero Rosso praised the Sicilian winery as boasting a “truly excellent range of wines” while maintaining a focus on “important issues of business ethics and environmental sustainability”.
Last month, Tasca d'Almerita was named the ‘Sicilian Wine Producer of the Year’ by the Italian Sommeliers’ Association.
The winery played a pivotal role in helping win DOC status for Sicilian wines earlier this year.
Of the recognition by Gambero Rosso, Albert Tasca said: “It’s a great result for the whole of Sicily, and confirms the island’s status as a centre of oenological excellence”.
