Vatican soccer fever continues Wednesday when French soccer greats take on the Swiss Guards.
Marius Tresor, Christian Karembeu and Dominique Rocheteau are among the old glories facing the pope's private army at AS Roma's training ground.
The friendly clash will be refereed by the soccer-mad bishop of the French city of St Etienne, Msgr Dominique Lebrun.
The match comes two weeks after the final of the Clericus Cup, the Vatican's soccer tournament for clerics from all over the world.
Before Wednesday's match the players will attend Benedict XVI's regular weekly audience and give him a bottle of cognac bottled in 1927, the year of his birth.
