(ANSA) - Italian Transport Minister Pietro Lunardi has admitted that he loves to drive fast and even breaks the motorway speed limit he himself imposed.
Speaking at a press conference dealing with the summer holiday traffic situation, Lunardi said he personally liked to travel at night and suggested that other motorists do the same to avoid traffic.
The minister added that he enjoyed driving and travelling alone and when asked whether he respected the 150kph speed limit, he admitted "I go a little faster than that."
One of the first initiatives Lunardi took when becoming minister was to have Italy's 130kph motorway speed limit raised to 150kph where the highway has three lanes in each direction.
