Trenitalia's summer schedule

| Wed, 06/16/2010 - 04:11

Started on Sunday 13th June and valid until 11th December 2010, Trenitalia’ (Italian Railways) summer schedule is rich in improvements as far as High Speed services are concerned, in response to customers’ requirements and market demand.

The Italian “Arrows”, High Speed “Frecciarossa” and “Frecciargento” trains, on which more than 8 million passengers have already travelled between January and May this year, will be shortening distances in Italy even more during the summer.

Every day, 120 Frecciarossa (“Red Arrow”) trains and 46 Frecciargento (“Silver Arrow”) trains will be connecting the main Italian art cities: Turin – Milan – Bologna – Florence – Rome – Naples – Venice, as well as Calabria and Puglia regions in the southern part of the country, making the train the most convenient way to visit the “Bel Paese”.

Top travel comfort offered to first class passengers, with complimentary Italian style welcome drink and snack offered on board: large, comfortable chairs, with plenty of room for your legs and individual plugs at your seat, in air conditioned coaches. Possibility to have a complete cooked meal in the restaurant coach, with high quality Italian food and stylish service at the table, while you enjoy breathtaking views from the window – train travel at its best.

Quality, speed, comfort and respect for the environment. Shouldn’t this be enough to make your mind about choosing Trenitalia, here’s one more reason: the new low cost fares launched for the summer season and now available from travel agencies in the UK. In addition to traditional 15% and 30% discounted fares, based on seven and fifteen day advance purchase terms, thousands of special price tickets will be made available for travelling second class till the end of September:
- €19 per person to travel on twelve main Frecciarossa and Frecciargento routes;
- €25 to travel between Rome and the Puglia region;
- €39 to travel between Milan and Rome/Naples/Salerno, as well as between the capital city and Turin.
- Furthermore, €39 tickets are now available for travelling from Rome to the North East (Venica, Padova, Verona, Brescia, Udine and Bolzano) and to the Calabria region.
