According to Christian tradition, the Star of Bethlehem, also called the Christmas Star, revealed the birth of Jesus to the Biblical Magi and later led them to Bethlehem. The Magi arrived on the day of the Epiphany; for this reason we have picked stella (star) as our Word of the Week.
The plural is stelle, stars.
Note that Stella is also an Italian female name.
