Zeffirelli, Bellucci and Bocelli in Rome's video promo

Screen siren Monica Bellucci, pop tenor Andrea Bocelli and legendary stage and film director Franco Zeffirelli will join forces to shoot a video promo for Rome, Mayor Gianni Alemanno announced on Monday.

The video will feature the eternal city's best-loved tourist spots - the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona - as well as sites showing contemporary Rome at its best.

Alemanno said he was leaving all the details of the video in Zeffirelli's hands, stressing that the director of Romeo and Juliet and The Taming of the Shrew was donating his time to the project.

''Don't ask me how long it will take to make this video, I want it to be a work of art. My only fear is that loving Rome as much as I do, I'll ignore its flaws,'' said the Tuscan-born director.

But in an aside to the mayor, Zeffirelli quipped: ''We do know there are some wee flaws so you'll have to work to fix them''.

Bocelli, who has sold some 65 million albums worldwide, said he was also available to sing for the Champions Cup final at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on May 27.

Bellucci, whose credits include Malena, Matrix Reloaded, The Passion of the Christ and The Brothers Grimm, was recently awarded the prestigious World Actress Award ''for outstanding merit''.

Zeffirelli, a long-time Rome resident, has a villa on the Appian way while Bellucci lives in Paris but owns a house in Rome.
