Last week US magazine Time featured Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti on its cover with the headline, 'Can this Man Save Europe?', referring to him as a Prime Minister for desperate times.
This coincided with Monti’s first visit to the White House where President Barack Obama voiced full confidence in him and his government. The President praised Monti's efforts toward fiscal reforms amid the broader eurozone crisis.
Monti, for his part, emphasized: "Washington's support helps us to continue along the path of reform".
