Fall has officially started, leaves are either beginning to fall off trees, or, in some parts of Italy, like the northern region of Trentino Alto-Adige, they are starting to show off their gorgeous autumn colors. Our Word of the Week is therefore foglia, leaf.
Being a feminine noun, it takes the –e when plural: foglie.
Autumn leaf is foglia autunnale.
