Hi Wendita,I do not know the correct answer to your question, however I am an architect working in North Italy and work with a number of electricians, if you want I can ask them their opinions on your question. Let me know.However I would not say that the Brit Standards are higher, but they are definitely different, and to carry out an electrical plant in Italy requires you to certify it and take on substantial responsibility that it has been carried out respecting the relevant regs. He would have to have abilitazione to work in Italy seeing that the electrical systems are different, and to get that would technically have to pass an oral exam in Italian.
