Hello everyone what a fantastic place this is to learn everything about Italy.

My family are looking to migrate from Malta to Tuscany in the very near future.

I have no doubts on the region, its beauty and culture. I would like to understand if anyone can help me on how it works in regards to taxes, when buying a property as a main residence for the very first time.

Things I have heard being you need to be there a certain period of time in order to gain residency to buy and also there is more taxation on the sqm of land that you buy?

Plus the usual annual taxes?
