Hello. I am a dual citizen and I have been living here for over 15 years. I would not worry too much about not having a degree. If you speak Italian and are bilingual you will definitely have good possibilities especially in the tourism/hospitality sector, especially if you have lots of experience. Tourism is the leading industry here and native English speakers are always in demand. Once you are here you can start by looking at local english newspapers or Italian websites for job postings.

Thank you for your reply! I've worked in hospitality for many years, so hospitality/tourism is where I feel I'd have the best opportunity for work. I realize the economy in Italy is not in good shape, but that particular sector seems to be doing well so I'm hoping it won't take too long to find something! My aim is to move there in the next 8-10 months, so that I have savings to cover me until I get somewhat established.

I'm almost certainly going to start in Rome, partly because I have a friend (my best friend, actually, of 18 years) who lives there but also because Rome enjoys nearly year-round tourism. I am also considering Bologna, but perhaps after a year or two. Thank you for your offer to send info!
