Description
Ref. no: MSV700
This property, dating back to the 1800s, is in the picturesque town of Castellina Marittima. When first built it was the main farm in the area and the focal point for all the local farmers who brought their wheat and grapes to be processed. In fact, the old press that was used for pressing the grapes is still in the garden and the cellar, which has since been converted into a restaurant, was used to store the wine.
The property is composed of a family apartment, 2 rooms with bathrooms – separate from the family apartment - used for B&B. There is also an attic accessed from the living room.
The house can be accessed both from the main square and from the garden.
Entering from the main square there is a comfortable staircase leading to the first floor. The hall at the top of the stairs gives access to the 2 rooms used for B&B and to the left there is the front door of the apartment.
When you enter the apartment, you find yourself in a spacious living / dining room. This room has magnificent wooden beams and terracotta ceiling tiles along with some of the original stonework exposed. There is also a large fireplace, which can be used to heat the radiators. To one side of this room is an archway through which the full-sized kitchen / diner is accessed.
Walking through the living room you are taken into the sleeping quarters with 3 double bedrooms, and a very large bathroom. The main bedroom is again characterized by the exposed stonework.
Continuing down the corridor you come to the second entrance, with stairs leading directly down to the 140 sq.m. garden through the large porch. The garden also includes an outhouse.
The restaurant is for sale at an additional price of €150,000. It was fully functioning until 2020 and has an outside area for dining.
