We were there last September. Based in suburb of Naples on the circumversuvia line. Traffic and roads in area are, well, well you'll be praying a lot! Not many cars in Naples are pristine condition. My advice, get a train from Naples to sorrento or Salerno The coast is full of ferries, busses, taxis etc. the more of you the cheaper. We got train from Nola to Salerno, boat to Almafi, then bus back to Salerno. Great day, great views and not hard on pocket . Good luck
