Born in the Soviet Union, Alexei Dmitriev no longer had a country he could call home, which led to a lifestyle of vagabonding around the world. His background in Dravidian linguistics made travel journalism a logical choice, and the Indian subcontinent a cherished place. Recently, having a daughter studying in Italy brought about frequent trips, causing a flip to his prior allegiances and making him wonder how he managed without Italy all this time. For now, traveling anywhere else makes little sense.
