Personal belongings

I have some property belonging to another person in my parents house in Italy. The owner is aware it is there and has expressed a wish to collect it.

Do not judge me harshly. You do not know and do not need to know the circumstances which led up to the question being asked. Fair notice has been given (1 year). I just wish to know if there is an equivalent law in Italy regarding belongings. (British law being 6 months notice).
