Kate Bolton-Porciatti lives in Florence, Italy, where she is a lecturer in music and cultural history and a freelance travel writer and hotel critic for the Daily Telegraph and other publications. She has travelled the world, from the heights of the Himalaya to the depths of the Dead Sea. From 1989 for 17 years she was a producer and journalist for the BBC in London.
