Andrea DiFiore

:

With Mother Nature as her muse, Andrea DiFiore mixes contemporary photography and photo-illustration with traditional fashion. Born in New York City, she has a master’s degree in Fine Art. She is self-taught in Adobe Photoshop and began her career as a high-end photo-retoucher for companies such as Dior, Rolling Stone magazine, and Directv. As a single mother, she balanced raising her daughter while creating various artworks using mixed media and exhibiting them. It was with great determination and patience that she was able to develop her successful line of luxurious scarves, and started DiFiore New York.

Ms. DiFiore’s permanent works of art displayed in the United Nations FCU building and in several mental health organizations around the country. She was also commissioned by the City of New York to use her talents for the beautification of her Lower East Side neighborhood, with two art pieces on display in Straus Square. While always creating, Ms. DiFiore also makes time to be involved in multiple charities.

I started my 2nd career later in life, with my company, DiFiore New York. www.difiorenewyork.com

Growing up on the East Coast, I developed a passion for the ocean and water at an exceptionally young age. That passion led me to a series of artworks and subsequently, to my current collection of scarves called Floral Seas.  I’m dedicated to preserving our oceans, keeping them clean, and helping marine life from being decimated by pollution.

My Floral Seas series of photo collages (art prints) is a metaphor for how fragile life can be and illustrates the beauty and vulnerability of our ecosystem. I took that series and transformed it into textiles.

My scarves are Oeko-tex certified and printed in the finest eco-conscious mills in Italy.

Proceeds from sales go to the non-profit preserving ocean life.

I reside on the Lower East Side of Manhattan with my amazing, aspiring opera singer daughter, Sonia and cava-poo Lucie. Sonia also does most of the modeling for my scarves.

- DiFiore New York  participated in the "World Oceans Day” first virtual fashion show, created by Bigthinx  - 2020 worldwide

- DiFiore New York’s new silk scarves were featured  in National Geographic’s “Ocean Odyssey” Fashion Show - 2019 NYC

- Permanent artworks exhibited for Earth Day at the UN green building in LIC. Artworks and  subsequently purchased by the UN.

- For Mental Awareness months, prints from my Tea Cup series were purchased and auctioned off for several mental health facilities,       Chicago and Washington.
