The fountain made famous 'round the world, Fontana di Trevi, thanks to Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni's dip in 'La Dolce Vita' (1960), directed by Fellini.

The Spanish Steps are the backdrop to a scene of 'The Talented Mr Ripley' (1999), starring Matt Damon.

The policeman directing traffic in Piazza Venezia in 'To Rome with Love' (2012) directed by Woody Allen is a real vigile urbano, Pierluigi Marchionne, spotted by Allen himself.

The still everyone loved: Julia Roberts eating gelato in front of the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone in Piazza Navona in 'Eat Pray Love' (2010) was made into the movie's poster.

The views over the Colosseum from Jep Gambardella's attic in 'La Grande Bellezza' (2013) are incredible. The attic exists and it's in Piazza del Colosseo 6.

There are many memorable scenes depicting Rome in 'La Grande Bellezza'. Here, Jep Gambardella, the main character, walks in the Aqueducts Park in the Appian Way Regional Park.

Castel Sant'Angelo features in the blockbuster 'Angels and Demons' (2009), where Robert Langdon discovers a secret passageway leading to the Vatican (it really exists and it's called Passetto del Borgo).
Rome has been a favorite set for directors through the history of cinema, from Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, shot in 1960, to recent Oscar winner La Grande Bellezza.
