I always stay at a small town called Wasselonne, it is about 6 or so hours from Calais. The hotel I use for the journey both to and from the UK is called Hostellerie de l'Etoile. Have a look on Booking.com.Lovely restaurant at the hotel too, but there are others in the town if you prefer, including an Indian. Dogs are also free, (at the hotel not the Indian ) Private parking, some of it undercover if you're lucky. I pay €100 a night, but there are 5 of us in two rooms.

Thanks Britaly i'll take a look at that - €100 for 5 people in 2 rooms sounds good to me.An Indian in the town and a nice restaurant at the hotel too. I'll definitely check it out.

I've stayed at Hostellerie Groff Aux Deux Clefs in Beisheim - worth looking at. Out of Colmar, but easy to get to the Autobahn to Basel [Use the 'Basel Bypass' via Lorach to avoid Basel]
