Hi, We are looking to buy a property in Italy using our Self Managed Super Fund. An SMSF is unique to Australia I believe but it is your retirement funds that we have put into our account managed account.

It is very complicated and I am wondering if anyone else has experience in using their retirement funds to buy a house prior to retirement age.

In order to be able to provide finance, in Italy, foreign banks and financial institutions must be registered with the Bank of Italy and have an active commercial structure in Italy - in the absence of these two prerogatives - they cannot operate in Italy
