Costs of postage here

You have my sympathies, as I think the postal costs here are OUTRAGEOUS. If a little Birthday card weighs over 20 grams (TWENTY GRAMS !!!)...........so, a 22 gram letter makes the cost go up from 75c to 2.40 Euros(no inbetween rates .........2.40 Euros !)..................we are stopping sending them purely out of principle, I'd rather phone even if it costs more ! As an aside to Sprostoni re price of phone calls, a Sisal card will buy you 120plus mins of calls from a landline in Italy to the rest of Europe and Canada / America, just a thought.

Agree that postage costs here

Agree that postage costs here are crazy. Sent some documents in A4 envelope within Italy Euro 2.00. Postage for a Amazon return, just a light pcb computer card, far more than Amazon will refund, so you have to weigh up whether to bin it, or pay the privilege this end to send it back. Angie, why not just use Skype?

You have a point Keith, and it may be OK for others, but Skype always reminds me of the days of long distance calls with that gap between conversation and it drives me more crackers. I need a support group for mastering my blackberry !. Sorry Karen off thread.

Found this that may help http://www.posteitaliane.it/postali/prioritaria/tariffe_estero.shtml Looks like you may be able to send your parcel for about €7 - that is if I have not missed anything in the small print. U.K. seems to be in zone 1. Hope it works out.

For sending Birthday cards to the UK why not use MoonPig or similar site. You can personalise them and have them delivered staight to the home, for the same as UK postage....

Before sending parcels to…
Submitted by CindyJones22 on Mon, 12/28/2020 - 19:27Before sending parcels to the UK I always check for the best parcel service so I can avoid problems like that. I use Parcelcompare or ParcelABC for that case.
Also I suggest to prefer using DHL as a courier service!
