Not much in the way of parking on the Fiesole side of Florence I fear - Parterre is usually full! http://www.visitflorence.com/florence-maps/parking-lots-in-florence.html

We always park at the Santa Maria Novella parking. Not cheap, but very handy and we always find a spot there.

I agree with Gala I've always got in there, it is right by the station so very convenient for the town centre. I also didn't think it was very expensive compared to some english car parks!

We have always parked at Firenze station car park. It costs us 16 euros a day, but think it is well worth it considering how close it is to everything. Plus they park it for you!

We can't remember the hourly rate at Santa Maria Novella, as it varies according to the length of stay, but a full day will cost you between 20 and 25€

Cheaper by bus

They will probably elect to go by bus, since it is cheaper and less hassle than trying to dodge the vespas.
