Italy's leading environmentalist association Legambiente and the non-profit tourist organization Touring Club Italiano have just published the 2015 edition of their annual "Blue Guide", which highlights Italy's most eco-friendly beach resorts.
This year, the coveted "Cinque Vele" ("Five Sails"), which recognize the areas most committed to sustainable toursim, have been awarded to 16 seaside and 6 lakeside resorts, with Sardinia and Puglia leading the pack.
