400 cooks, volunteers and students labored this weekend to make 660 meters of torrone. The giant candy will be entered in the official Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Longest Torrone.”
The massive sweet was created at the Almond Blossom Festival in Agrigento on Sunday. Thousands of people were on hand to watch over 1500 kg of almonds and 1000 kg of sugar be turned into the monstrous 660 meter torrone.
The enormous torrone beat out the previous record-holding nougat from Camerino that had measured in at a mere 404 meters.
