The Ferragosto weekend on Tuscany's Versilia coast was devoted to solidarity.
Around 30,000 people wearing colored wigs gathered at Lido di Camaiore Sunday for a charity drive to raise money for the Meyer Children's Hospital in Florence.
Tourists and residents formed a three-kilometer-long brightly-colored line along the shore before going for a group dive into the sea. The event raised 12,000 euros for the hospital, which specializes in treating pediatric oncology and hematology.
Following the dive, there was a nice merenda all’italiana, with watermelon, gelato, bread and Nutella.
