As two rare Ferrari exhibits celebrate the anniversaries of the 250 GTO and Ferrari driver Gilles Villeneuve's death, the Ferrari Museum in Maranello is staying open every day this summer and experiencing a record number of visits.

In July, Ferrari set a new one-month admission record, as nearly 35.000 people visited the Maranello museum, which typically receives 240.000 visitors per year. Due to this record-breaking interest, Ferrari has opted to keep the museum open during the August holiday season centring around today's Ferragosto holiday.

The chance to see the legendary 250 GTO, the most in-demand Ferrari in the world, has drawn visitors to the exhibit celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Ferrari 250 and the 50th anniversary of the GTO. A trio of other award-winning GTOs, the Tourist-Trophy-winning 250 SWB, the 250 Tour de France and the 250 Breadvan prototype, round out the exhibit. The 250 GTO will only be on display until September.

In the "Tribute to Gilles" exhibit, honouring the 30th anniversary of Canadian Ferrari driver Villeneuve's fatal crash, visitors can get to know the much loved driver through photos and films provided by the Giacobazzi family, who sponsored the driver. Several of his racing single-seaters, along with the 308 GTS that Villeneuve drove in record time from Monte Carlo to Maranello, are also on display.

The Ferrari Museum is open from 9.30am to 7.00pm during the summer.
