Il Volo, the beloved Italian trio of teenage tenors, is setting off this autumn for their first North American tour.
Ignazio Boschetto, Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble (aged 17, 18 and 16 respectively) are also known as i Tenorini. The young singers won over audiences when they first joined together in 2009 to perform renditions of classics like “O Sole Mio,” on Italian television.
Il Volo’s first album was released in November 2010 and reached #6 on Italian charts.
The group released the international edition of the self-titled album in April 2011. With the help of three appearances on American Idol earlier this year, the album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200, and reached #1 on the American Classical Albums chart.
After selling 23,000 copies in the United States within the first week of their album’s release, Il Volo has now planned their debut North American tour. The tour will begin in Atlantic City on 24 September, span both coasts and include stops in Canada and the Bahamas before wrapping up on 23 October.
Tickets are already on sale for New York, Los Angeles and Miami performances. Sale dates for the other North American tour stops will be announced sporadically on ilvolomusic.com as the information becomes available.
