Ten of Our Favorite Lakes in Trentino-Alto Adige

The waters of Tovel Lake in the Adamello Brenta Natural Park have incredible blue and green hues.

Toblino Lake in the so-called 'Valley of the Lakes' in Trentino, and the castle on its shores of the same name.

Molveno Lake, in the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, has won, for the fourth consecutive year, the title of 'Italy's Most Beautiful Lake.'

Landro Lake, one of the three largest lakes of Alta Val Pusteria in South Tyrol, is framed by the Cristallo group of the Dolomites.

The mountains that frame Lake Anterselva form the natural border with Austria. Its turquoise waters are the backdrop to a pleasant walk around the lake.

Braies Lake, considered the 'pearl' of the Dolomites, is the most famous of the region, where mountains reflect on the blue-green waters.

Resia Lake in Val Venosta is famous for the steeple of a submerged 14th-century church; when the water freezes, it can be reached on foot.

Famous for its Dolomite mountains, our featured region of the month, Trentino-Alto Adige, is also a great destination for lake lovers: there are about 300 of them, large and small, nestled in valleys, usually with incredibly beautiful backdrops of soaring mountains. You can often walk around their perimeter, enjoying the peacefulness and natural landscapes, rent a boat, perhaps have a swim, or you can use them as departing points for challenging hikes.
We have selected ten lakes in Trentino-Alto Adige we especially love. Let us know about other favorites we may have missed.
