(Re Woodburners )Are CO detectors widely available and mandatory as in the UK? I reckon we all should have them. Not seen them locally.

I was just about to wire up my workshop to the ENEL box this morning and discovered that the LIVE (Brown) and the EARTH wires are connected together at the meter tails, I was expecting the NEUTRAL and the EARTH wires to be connected together, has

I wondered if anyone could explain how to calculate the car tax in Italy, I know it is to do with horse power etc but is there a useful website like our own DVL  site which can allow one to find out how much tax is paid  on say....

I thought gas boilers had to be fitted on the outside of the house these days in Italy at least. If a condensing boiler then be careful with the condensate pipe freezing up.

Palmanova in with it's octagonal street layout is worth a stop for a light lunch. If you like war stuff Monte Grappa , Redipuglia and  Caporetto (Slovenia) are impressive. You could do with more time though to enjoy the trip.

I meant in the sense that neutral and earth are usually at the same potential, ie connected,  not a 'floating' earth.

How much do you want? We had our best ever harvest and the oil is lovely with a peppery flavour, 0.3% acid. We will be driving back to the UK this summer,  although we normally take the ferry to Hull I'm sure we could send a tin for a fee if you are further south. Best regards Billy
